Settings holds the facts every other page reads — who you are, where you are, how money and time work, and the Square connection everything settles through. It runs across five tabs: Business · Hours · Booking rules · Integrations · Plan, with one Save top right.
Find it: Setup → Settings.
Column 2 — Status
The health strip: the Square connection's state, pages live, bookings this month. If something core is unhooked, this column says so before anything breaks quietly.
The Business tab
Who and where you are:
- Identity — Business name, Tagline, Email, Phone, and Website — "used for the links in your emails and the install snippets."
- Address — Street, City, State / region, Postcode.
- Logo — "shown on the kiosk check-in screen. Your website's logo is placed in the template itself." Plus a Square logo — "for anywhere a square is the only shape that fits: the phone app icon, email, share cards."
- Time zone — "every time in Bookuble is shown in this zone."
- Currency — "what you price and charge in" — and Number format — "how prices and dates are written. Bookuble's own wording stays English."
The Hours tab
Your opening hours, day by day. The Schedule reads them directly — offerings set to run always-on generate their bookable times from these hours, so changing a day here reshapes the calendar.
The Booking rules tab
How every booking behaves:
- Paying — "Pay first: the time is only confirmed once Square takes the payment. Book now: the booking stands and they can pay later or in person."
- Guest checkout — "either way the form still collects their name, email and phone, and every booking files onto a customer record — guests just skip making an account. Require sign-in and the confirm step asks for a code first."
- Seats left — "shows '3 left' beside each time — on your site, the booking widget and the week calendar. A time that is full always says so."
- Earliest booking and How far ahead people can book — the booking window at both ends.
- Free cancellation window — the period during which customers can move their own booking; after it closes, changes come through you.
- Sales tax — "added to bookings, walk-ins and shop orders. Set 0 if your prices already include it." At the till, Square's Order is the final word.
- Bookuble fee — "5% either way. Absorb: you pay it out of each sale, customers never see it. Pass on: a visible 'Booking fee' line is added to their bill." Always 5% of the sale, never of the sales tax.
- AI receptionist — "the phone agent's own rules. Informational: it answers questions and takes messages, never books. Accept bookings: it books open times on pay-on-arrival services."
The Integrations tab
- Square — the connection everything settles through, with its state (Connected / Not connected / Needs attention) and the controls: connect, Reconnect Square, or Disconnect. Payments, refunds and payouts run in your own Square account from the moment it's connected.
- AI model — "used by the AI Studio."
- BookingXi HQ — your support Account key: "your direct line to the BookingXi team" (with Replace the key when you're issued a new one).
The Plan tab
Your plan and its numbers — Bookings this month and Pages live.
Column 4 — Your plan
The cost, stated plainly beside whatever tab you're on: the Bookuble fee and any add-ons on your account. The numbers here reconcile with Other → Settlements.
Common jobs
- Day-one order: Business tab (details, time zone) → Hours → Integrations (connect Square) → Booking rules (tax, windows) → Save. Everything downstream reads from here.
- Changing your change window? Update Free cancellation window, and mirror the wording in Legal → Policies the same day.
- Phones ringing unanswered? Set AI receptionist to Informational first; move to Accept bookings once you've heard how it handles your callers.
