Chat runs the bubble on your website — an assistant that answers visitor questions in your voice, hands off to you when it should, and files every conversation where you can read it.
Find it: Communication → Chat.
Column 2 — Site chat
The conversation inbox: every chat visitors have had, newest first. "No conversations yet" until the bubble starts working. Conversations that produce a lead also land in Essentials → Leads under the Chat source.
Column 3 — the assistant's settings
- Enabled — the master switch. "The bubble disappears entirely when off."
- Greeting — the first line a visitor sees.
- Let AI answer — whether AI replies at all, and with which Chat AI model.
- Limits — a Daily limit ("AI replies per day across all visitors") and a Per-conversation limit ("AI replies in one thread before handing off"), so the assistant helps without ever trapping someone in a bot loop.
- When it can't help — what happens at handoff.
- Your knowledge — Extra knowledge for facts the site doesn't state, plus FAQ pairs: "the question, the way a visitor would ask it" and "your answer, in your voice." This is what makes the assistant yours instead of generic.
One Save commits it all.
Common jobs
- Launch it well: write five FAQ pairs from the questions your phone actually gets — parking, age limits, group size, gift cards, weather. That covers most of what visitors ask.
- Wrong answer spotted? Add or correct the FAQ pair — the fix applies from the next question on.
- Read the inbox weekly: the questions visitors ask are a free list of what your website isn't explaining.
